Greenline Print is a cradle-to-gate life cycle carbon footprint platform. The accuracy and credibility of the calculations executed in the Greenline Print interface is granted by following the specifications of the Publicly Available Specification 2050:2011, which is a specification for the assessment of the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services, issued by the British Standards Institution.
A detailed description of the implementation of PAS 2050 into Greenline Print is available in the pdf-link below:
Cradle-to-gate greenhouse gas emissions calculated by Kroonpress Ltd. in accordance with PAS 2050, self declared.Summary
Greenline Print utilises a cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment approach. The needed data is acquired from producers and high quality literature and the calculations have been implemented according to PAS 2050.
The cradle-to-gate life cycle carbon emissions are calculated per tonne of material consumed, including paper waste and other materials that don’t end up in the final product. If the total emissions per tonne are lower than 1000 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent, the grade for the product is A, if emissions are within 1000 and 2000 kg, the product is graded B and anything beyond that is graded C through F in the same 1000 kg steps, until 6000 kg/tonne. The range is reviewed each year to encourage a continued decrease in chosen CO2-equivalent emissions and to sustain the desirability of the A-grade label.
The „+“-sign is awarded to orders that use paper that contains recycled fibre in addition to having a low carbon footprint.
Greenline Print and its calculation methodolgy is in accordance to ISO 16759:2013 and is verified by Bureau Veritas.
